The Kratt Brothers have paired up with PBS kids to provide games for students, like Rhino Bowl, which help them learn about animal adaptations. Below are links to games for several different animals.
In Aardvark Town, students’ digging as an aardvark provides homes for other animals to live in. Students learn how to read a grid in this game and they learn about which habitats each animals prefer. I do like that the grids increase in size over time, so they get more complicated to read; however, there is some repetition of the animals used. Though the selection of animals is generally good overall.
In Capture the Fishmobiles, kids play the roles of an osprey & a pelican and the capture fish for survival. Each creature has a different diving ability which provides a different range that they can hunt in. Each bird also needs to watch out for dangerous obstacles & fish with defensive adaptations.
