The Immortal Contribution of Henrietta Lacks

The Immortal Rap of Henrietta Lacks tells the story of how cells were taken from Henrietta to help with her diagnosis, but then the cells were sold repeatedly around the world for untold amounts of money, without her consent, nor compensation. This is a great video produced by students from KIPP Bridge in Oakland, California. The music was inspired by the following three songs: “Right Hand” by Drake; “Shell Shocked” by Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J., & Dolla Sign; and “Work” by Rihanna, featuring Drake.
