Monster Mansion Match is a fun matching game where students match letter names or sounds with beginning word spellings or sounds. Students may start out by seeing all objects at once in the “show” version, or they may select “memory” to play it like the game memory, where they select two windows at a time to reveal what is behind them, and then they must remember where the matches are to pair up the correct pairs. It sounds like there is even a red monster that will mix up the windows from time to time, in order to make the game even more challenging.
At first, I wanted to have the matching monsters look alike, but after thinking about it, I’m glad they do not. Students would simply match things up by appearance which would not teach the skills that they need.
