Math Quest is an involved adventure game that uses rapid rounds of addition (1-11 typically; at least in the beginning) to fend off hornets and boars, while exploring new areas and completing quests. This does not look like a short game, but the fact that it is more involved can hook students into coming back to play it again and again until the quest is finished. There are indicators that the math also gets more complicated as it goes on, as one of the early quests make a reference to the need for a “square root”. Children can select a male or a female avatar. A nice aspect of this game, is the fact that the stats track things like accuracy in answering the math questions.
